Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu

The Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu ("The Ocean of the Nectar of Devotional Rasa") is a major theological and aesthetic text composed in Sanskrit by the saint and scholar Rupa Gosvami in the 16th century. It is the foundational manual of Gaudiya Vaishnavism, offering a systematic analysis of the psychology, stages, and practice of devotion (bhakti). Rupa Gosvami's genius lay in adapting the classical Indian concept of rasa (aesthetic emotion in Sanskrit drama) and applying it to spirituality.
