Samvit-shakti
The samvit-shakti is the knowledge potency of the Supreme Lord, one of the three aspects of Krishna's svarupa-shakti (internal energy), alongside the hladini-shakti (pleasure) and the sandhini-shakti (existence). In Gaudiya Vaishnava theology, the samvit-shakti is the principle that sustains and communicates pure divine consciousness: perfect, complete, and transcendental knowledge of reality. Through the samvit-shakti, Bhagavan fully knows Himself, knows all souls, and knows all dimensions of spiritual and material existence. On the spiritual plane, this potency allows the eternal devotees to possess natural and spontaneous knowledge of their relationship with Krishna, without the need for formal instruction. In the material world, the samvit-shakti manifests in a limited form as the intellectual and cognitive capacity of living beings. For bhakti-yoga practitioners, the samvit-shakti operates through the mercy of the guru and the scriptures, awakening the dormant spiritual knowledge in the devotee's heart. This knowledge is not an intellectual accumulation, but a progressive revelation of divine truth that manifests to the degree that the heart is purified through devotion.
