Hladini-shakti
The hladini-shakti is the internal pleasure potency of the Supreme Lord, the aspect of Krishna's internal energy (shakti) that provides Him with supreme bliss and transcendental happiness. In Gaudiya Vaishnava theology, the hladini-shakti is considered the most intimate and elevated of the three divisions of the svarupa-shakti (internal potency), alongside the samvit-shakti (knowledge potency) and the sandhini-shakti (existence potency). The supreme personification of the hladini-shakti is Sri Radha, who embodies the quintessence of divine love (mahabhava). Through Radha, Krishna experiences the fullness of His own bliss. The hladini-shakti manifests in varying degrees: in its condensed form it expresses itself as prema (pure love), and in its highest manifestation as mahabhava, the supreme devotional ecstasy experienced in its totality only by Radha. In bhakti-yoga practice, understanding the hladini-shakti illuminates the nature of devotional service: the devotee does not seek personal happiness, but aspires to be an instrument through which Krishna's hladini-shakti flows, thereby contributing to the transcendental pleasure of the Divine Couple in Vrindavana.
